After years of world-wide research, it is very much clear now that smoking is the single biggest cause of cancer. Cigarette smoke contains hundreds of deadly carcinogens like Arsenic, Ammonia and Hydrogen Cyanide. A smoker inhales them without even thinking what the havoc these carcinogens can create inside him. Although the list of diseases which cigarette smoke can produce is very long but cancer is the disease which can be easily ranked first in this list. Just to get an idea, one in the four cancer deaths in UK is because of cigarette smoke.

Cancer has various types so we can’t say that there is a specific type of cancer which one can get from cigarette smoke. Lung cancer, Larynx cancer, Cervix cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Stomach cancer, Mouth cancer, Throat cancer and Breast cancer are the cancers caused by smoking.

Lung cancer tops the smoking related cancers list and more than fifty percent of cancer deaths are due to lung cancers. It is very dangerous as it is most difficult cancer to treat. Secondhand smoking is also a major cause of this cancer type. There are very rare cases in which a non-smoker has developed such type of cancer. In men, 90% of lung cancers caused by smoking and this percentage drops down to 80% in women but that’s of course still alarming.

Larynx cancer is most likely to be developed in men who smoke more than one pack a day. Cervix cancer is mostly seen to be developed in women who smoke and exactly same is the case of Uterus and Vulvar cancer. So cigarette equally harms you, no matter whether you are a male or female. Remember there is no such thing as safe cigarette at all and the one you have just finished has increased the risk of cancer in your body.

Pancreatic cancer and stomach cancer are two more dangerous cancers that can be caused by smoking but they are not so common. Stomach cancer, which is also termed as Ulcer is because of the acid like taste which cigarette smoke produces in your mouth.

Mouth cancer risks increases for a smoker and according to studies, the risk of such caner increases among those who smoke cigars and pipes. A very good question can be posed here and that is why not every smoker dies of cancer? Answer is simple; it is not a nature’s rule that every smoker has to die of cancer but the risk of cancer increases dramatically in a smoker as compared to a non smoker. So, give up this bad habit before cancer hits you.

A smoker always thinks that cigarette is causing no harm to him and that is obviously a forced thinking because a smoker can not smoke with pleasure and relief if he starts thinking about the deadly effects of smoking. So it is actually a smoker’s denial of cigarette bad affects which makes him to keep on smoking cigarettes until he becomes addicted. So there are few things which a smoker necessarily needs to know. First off, the harmful effects of smoking and secondly how he is affecting the people around him with cigarette smoke.

Well, the list of deadly effects of smoking never ends. You can find this list of hazardous smoking affects on the Internet easily. Moreover, TV and printed media also can help you in this regard. Even kids know that smoking is not a good habit because it destroys you and the public around you. Then why you are denying the deadly affects of smoking? Why are you acting deaf when the world around you is shouting that cigarette is alarmingly dangerous? You need to ask this to your self sincerely….!

Let us name few diseases that you can get from cigarette smoke. Cancer, cardiovascular diseases, COPD, smoking cough, emphysema, gangrene are just a few names. If we talk about cancer, there are various types of cancers which a smoker can easily develop. For example, lung cancer, cervix cancer, mouth cancer, throat cancer, pancreas cancer.

According to studies, there are many other types of diseases too which a smoker can easily develop; non-smokers, on the other hand, rarely develops such cancers. If you are thinking that the cigarette you have right now in your hand is safe, you are absolutely wrong. You are bluffing your self!

Not only this, a smoker equally harms the public around him with the smoke he exhales. He leaves the air filthy with all the carcinogens present in the cigarette smoke. A non smoker passing by a smoker or sitting with him has to inhale this dirty carcinogen-full air. Thus, almost same smoking diseases can develop inside a non-smoker through second hand smoking (SHS). So a smoker should be well aware of the fact that he is not only destroying himself but also the many around him.

According to a research, smoking can kill 2.5 million middle-aged people only in 2010 and this shows that smokers die young. Research also shows that a long-time smoker can die almost 23 years early. A smoker really makes wrong use of this beautiful life and sadly, die so young!!

Cigarette smoke is alarmingly dangerous no matter whether you are inhaling it directly or indirectly, which we term secondhand smoke. A smoker’s temptation of cigarettes increases day by day. He craves for another a few minutes after finishing the one he has in his hand. It is a common observation that youngsters are attracted more to smoking. They adopt this bad habit just for fun and style and in no time become addicted to it. This is only because they do not know what they are getting from the cigarette smoke and how they are affecting the people around.

One best way to make youngsters quit this habit is to tell them about the smoking related diseases. Of course, the electronic media, printed media and the internet can serve this purpose effectively. They should be well aware of the fact that there is no such thing as a safe cigarette.

Cancer is the disease that is most likely to be caused by cigarette smoke. It can be lung cancer, throat cancer and mouth cancer. It is very rare that a non-smoker catches such cancers while a smoker is fully exposed to them. Ninety percent of lung cancer patients are smokers while 9.5 percent are secondhand smokers and if no one had smoked ever on our planet lung cancer cases would be only 0.5 percent. Some other cancer types cigarette smoke is capable to produce are bladder cancer, cancer of the pancreas, cancer of the kidneys and cervical cancer. Look, what the havoc cigarette smoke is creating.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is another deadly smoking related disease. It causes problem in respiration by blocking the normal air flow. Smoke damages the alveoli (air sacs) which cause breathlessness and this condition is termed as emphysema. Bronchitis is another condition in which a smoker coughs frequently with a lot of mucus, normally termed as “smoking cough”. Both these conditions come under the category of COPD.

Cholesterol hardens and narrows the arteries of your heart over time but smoking accelerates this process and causes blood clots to form at very early stage. All the heart related diseases which are caused by smoke are known as cardiovascular diseases. It includes Coronary thrombosis, cerebral thrombosis, high blood pressure, kidney failures and gangrene.

In coronary thrombosis blood clots are formed which are supplied to heart and can cause heart attack. Cerebral thrombosis is caused when vessels to brain are blocked and it can result in stroke and paralysis. Gangrene is also a type of paralysis in which blood supply to the legs is cut and is mostly a result of smoking.

The list of smoking related diseases and problems never ends. To tell you more, it can cause hypertension, fertility problems and severe asthma. The intense smoke coming out of cigarette can damage the eye easily, causing bloodshot appearance. It destroys your teeth and gums and produces acid taste in your mouth which can be a cause of ulcer.

Quit smoking now and play your part in healthy development of yourself and your society. You are not only destroying your self but also the people around you!!

Most often, we listen on TV channels and from many other sources that smoking cancers and smokers are very much exposed to deadly cancer disease as compared to non-smokers. Of course that’s a truth but what this article illustrates is another major fact and that is Second Hand Smoking (SHS) and its deadly cancerous effects. A smoker not only affects himself but also the people around him by the smoke he exhales (called mainstream smoke) and the smoke coming out from the end of cigarette (called sidestream smoke).

A non-smoker walking in the street may consider the cigarette smoke pretty harmless but to tell the fact it’s absolutely not! Arsenic, Ammonia, Hydrogen Cyanide and many other carcinogens are residing inside that harmless looking smoke.

A smoker passing by you or sitting with you contaminates the air with these filthy and deadly elements. So your turn of inhaling these carcinogens starts by the time he ends exhaling those. So SHS is just like doing something illegal or dangerous un-intentionally. Why should you be the victim of the bad results of the act you never did? Well, that’s indeed a point of worry…

International Agency for Research on smoking cancers concluded a study in 2004 and according to the study there are 4,000 chemicals present in sidestream smoke, including 69 known carcinogens. Very much same is the case for mainstream smoke while the concentration of the elements varies depending on type of the smoke.

Poly Nuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbon, Aromatic Amines and tobacco-specific N-nitrosamines are some highly carcinogenic elements present in the smoke. A smoker inhales them directly and then leaves the air dirty for you to inhale. So think before you join Smokers Company as we all know prevention is the best cure available.

If you are a smoker, it’s best to quit smoking so you don’t cause cancers from secondhand smoke, but if you cannot quit at this time, here are a few tips to prevent secondhand smoke from affecting other people. First off, always take your smoke breaks in open air, not in the car or in home. Moreover, find a suitable smoking corner outside where there is no public around.

Remember, a smoker fears not even a little bit from the smoke as he himself is allowing it to destroy his precious internal body. So responsibility lies on your shoulders, just make them understand the harmful effects of second hand smoking in public and play your part in smoking cancer free nourishment of our society. That may also help the smoker understand the harmful results of smoking!

So act now and make a difference! Now you fully know that smoking cancers and if you are not stopping a smoker from smoking in the presence of others, you are making a mistake and remember this mistake can destroy many including you. We do not want cancer and we will not let it destroy our public! Advice smokers before its too late…..!
